Athlete of the Month – August 2019

JULIA ALLEN

Julia has been training at goperformance in and out of season for the past five years. Her older brother also trained with us.

She’s a recent graduate of Landmark Christian School and signed to play softball at Georgia State University.

From Julia:

goperformance has helped my athleticism by leaps and bounds. There is never a day where I don’t look forward to being in the gym and pushing myself to new limits. The coaches have taught me how the proper technique starting in seventh grade, and now I feel confident in myself going to college with a great background in lifting!

I have had the pleasure of getting to have one on one lessons with Bobby, where I can focus on specifics. Bobby is an amazing coach, who is always encouraging me to finish the set or go up in weight! And despite what he says…. I love doing pull ups!

I am so excited to play softball at the next level. I have worked incredibly hard for this opportunity and my hard work will continue in college. I’m excited to be under the best coaches in the state, and learning everyday. 

I want to thank the whole staff at goperformance for being so welcoming and always making the gym a fun place to go!

From Julia’s Parents:

We sent both of our children to goperformance to make the most out of their athleticism. The coaches work with them as an individual, tailoring their workouts to their needs and sport. I would definitely recommend getting children in early to help maximize their full potential! We have been very happy with results.

From Coach Bobby

Julia’s most noticeable improvements were her overall strength and her agility/change of direction. I structured her workouts around focusing on strength more so than skill work, since she was getting that during the high school sessions. I mainly focused on leg strength, shoulder strength, and core stability. Julia is consistent, skillful and loves to make training fun. She went the extra mile by consistently showing up to our training sessions every week AND the athlete classes to work on stuff that we didn’t always have time to cover. Julia has improved her overall strength and speed in significant ways. Julia is an awesome client and super fun to work with. I wish her nothing but the very best in college!
