Deadlift Series – Video 1

Jan 14, 2020

Deadlifts are often a part of our programming. Many avoid deadlifts because they associate them with back pain or injury. “The last time I did deadlifts, my back hurt for days.” We hear it often and there are several benefits to this hip-hinge movement. The leading back injury specialist says the following about the hip hinge movement, the deadlift:

“When you hip hinge, your spine stays straight and bending occurs at your hip joint which is the king of motion. The hip joint is meant to bear load, not your back.” Stuart McGill

Deadlifts strengthen the hip hinge and can be a powerful tool in your programming.

If you are avoiding deadlifts or associate them with back pain, this video series will be helpful for you. We will address three things – form, mobility and stability. There are corrective exercises to address common issues with the deadlift.
