“Pain is not necessarily the exercise you do but how you move in the exercise itself.”

Are you writing off certain exercises because you got hurt once or the exercise gives you pain? Coach Lane shares his thoughts about movement, warm-ups and how to decrease your pain.

Pain will always persist and even get worse if we aren’t stressing the body to adapt and address the pain.

How we tackle pain?

Step 1 – Address the movement first. How are we doing the squat, bench, military prep, etc?
Step 2 – Address through mobility. Are we mobilizing the joint to create in-range tissue change?
Step 3 – Address through addressing weaknesses.

At goperformance we are going to address these three steps in the warm up at goperformance. We don’t just do a warm up to check a box; it’s specific to the warm up. If you are late to class chronically and not fully moving through the warm up, your chances of getting hurt are much greater.
