The aspect I enjoy most about goperformance is the community. I know whatever the day entails, I can walk into go and always have a sense of belonging. The most noticeable change I was aware of in my training was my ability to recover. As a swimmer, I have been looking for ways to improve my athleticism in and out of the pool, so I can perform when the time counts. When I stepped in the gym for the first time, I remember being challenged like I never have before and felt amazing after I finished my first workout. “Since I started training with Treon, my strength and power have improved drastically in the pool. I am able to attack the water in sprints and push off of the wall harder at each turn. Training with Treon has given me an edge over my competition because of the combination of being able to move my muscles faster and pull and kick more water in the sprint events. My performance goals in the gym for the new few months are to continue to get stronger and build more muscular endurance so that I am able to finish the 100-yard races with the same speed and power as the 50 yard races. My training sessions with Treon are both fun and challenging. Treon knows how to push me beyond what I think I can do, but he also knows when I have had hard swim practices and may need more rest. It also helps that we both love cleans and snatches!

“I joined goperformance in 2013 when I was committed to making a change to my health. I had always worked out yet never felt or noticed any changes in myself. Since joining goperformance, I not only feel the change, I notice it when I look in the mirror. I am now stronger, I’ve increased my endurance, and have more stamina to keep up with a stressful full-time job, manage all the activities of my three children, and my household. My workouts at goperformance jump start my morning and keep me focused all day. This helps keep me balanced, both physically and mentally.
My workout group and the trainers have become my extended family. They inspire me, guide me, and give me support to achieve my goals. This year they even challenged me to complete a Combine as a fundraiser. When I think I can’t run any longer, lift any more or do another burpee, the support of my workout group as well as every amazing and dedicated coach, encourage me to finish. The trainers do more than just tell you the workout, they ensure you know how to do each exercise correctly to avoid injury and will modify for your fitness level. The trainers take time to provide nutrition counseling and other services that are something unique to goperformance. They are committed and dedicated to you as a whole person. The trainers know your name, focus on helping you to achieve your goals and inspire you to be your best. This is a gym that truly cares about their members and works hard to personalize the experience for each member to meet their individual goals. The classes are fun, energizing, and yes, sometimes painful. I always felt awkward in a gym–never at home. Here, I have found a home. I notice changes in my muscle definition and can do pull-ups and regular push-ups. Those two things I was never able to do before.

“I first started going to goperformance in sixth grade because one of my teammates on my football team introduced me to the gym. I would go to the middle school classes a few days out of the week and then a private lesson with Lane or Treon. They not only allowed me to become a much better athlete, they became mentors and friends to me.
When I got to 8th grade, I decided to try a new gym, but this proved to be more hurtful for me than beneficial as I was in bad shape and started to get hurt more from physical activity. I decided to go back to goperformance and noticed an immediate change as I transitioned to high school. I felt the best I ever had athletically because of my training program. I have been enrolled in their training programs my entire high school career.

I have been a member of goperformance since 2013. When I joined, I was skeptical about how long it would last. I had always been self-motivated to maintain a decent level of fitness, but I had done it on my own. After years of reading books, magazines and web pages to discover the best “program”, I was suffering from exercise burn out, and it showed.
Then came goperformance.
Lane and Payden Montgomery and the host of excellent coaches they have hired over the years got me re-energized and kept me there. Their programming is constantly varied and has challenged me to engage in new areas of fitness. After joining, I quickly improved in all aspects of my physical fitness and fixed problems I didn’t even know I had! “I have been physically active and required to stay in shape for more than 40 years as a police officer, being an athlete in college, SWAT Commander, and coach. I finally decided to try a formal fitness program at another CrossFit type gym as I am approaching retirement. I ended up seriously hurting myself. I found immediate results in participating in the small group adult classes at goperformance. Shortly after joining and seeing the success, I encouraged my teenage son to join me as he wanted to get faster, increase his vertical, and his strength. During this past year, I have lost 55 pounds, and he has gained 25 pounds of muscle. My son, Logan, has gained more confidence in himself personally and in his athletic abilities. To this day we continue to reach personal strength and agility goals on a consistent basis.
Over the years, I thought I was lifting correctly. After a few of the adult small group classes, we realized our bad form was causing the injuries and slowing progress. “I’ve been a member at goperformance since January 2017. Before joining goperformance, I was an avid runner for ten years. Running was my game and Larry was my name. I ran so much I even qualified for the Boston Marathon 2012. Running Boston was the pinnacle of my middle-aged running career. Suddenly I decided to stop running. A good friend of mine once told me, “If you lose interest in doing something you love, go find something new you can do to make you feel fulfilled.”
As I was aging, I noticed my physique was heading towards a dad bod as the miles declined. One day I decided to step into goperformance and I was greeted by Lane and Payden Montgomery. I asked Lane about weight training and getting strong. He said, “Come on we will help you transform from a runner into an athlete!”
Years later I’ve reversed “Father Time” and feel 28 years old again! The consistent action from week to week and program to program has allowed me to reach my strength and athletic goals beyond anything I had ever dreamed of. I can lift more weight, jump higher and further, run faster and go longer during workouts than most people my age.Working in the restaurant business, things can challenge you in many different ways. Participating in the adult morning classes gives me the energy and mental sharpness to take on whatever comes my way afterwards.

“I like to eat! I love chocolate! I want to stay healthy and fit! These were and are my motivation and goals! I never really had a problem committing or finding the time for exercise but finding the right exercise that not only burns calories but improves strength, fitness, and endurance was a challenge for me. This is exactly what goperformance offered! I had never worked out in a gym before, so this was a new experience for me. My previous exercises of choice were running and doing pilates-type exercises. I noticed that I was not staying strong/firm, increasing strength, nor was I burning enough calories. I honestly did not know what to expect when I started working out at goperformance. I would laugh in the beginning and say they need a class for the “delicate flowers”, but even with that being said – all the classes were adaptable for my strength level at that time.
I am also amazed at the coach’s level of commitment to my individual goals. Even though they are group classes, they are constantly watching to ensure that I am practicing safe techniques, encouraging me to go harder or go stronger, and making my workout experience FUN! In addition to getting in a great exercise, I can say I always get in a good laugh while I am there! The people, coaches and clientele, are all wonderful and make the exercise experience have a spark of JOY!
Since 2018 when I joined goperformance, I am amazed at how I have improved in my strength, my tone, overall fitness, and my body’s ability to burn more calories (shhhh: it is nice to have a donut day).
The amount of weight I can lift, push, pull, press, row, or curl is still an incredible thought for this once ‘delicate flower’. “

“I started with goperformance upon moving to Peachtree City six years ago in 2016. I keep coming back to train at goperformance because of the environment and the coaches. The environment is client-centered, and the coaches are committed to seeing you grow and develop. They are there to support you and want the best for you. Many other places, the coaches and trainers are there to check a box or get a paycheck. That’s not the case here. They are invested in me.
That’s why they are constantly correcting form, checking to see how I am doing personally and truly want me to get better. “Over the past few years I have been training in between seasons with Lane and the other coaches at goperformance. It has helped me with my speed and agility, but especially with my strength and stamina. I can move a lot faster laterally and can throw a lot more weight around than I’ve previously been able to do while still being able to recover quickly. In the past few months I have seen big leaps in my strength training from being consistent and sticking with the program. “I joined goperformance in 2015. For years, I was so focused on taking care of my family that I had not been exercising regularly. I was tired, hoad lower back pain and just generally did not feel well.
I decided it was time to do something about it, but the thought of working out in a gym was very intimidating. Walking in the door the first day was the hardest part, but the trainers and other clients at goperformance were so welcoming that I actually wanted to combe back. I wasn’t able to complete the workouts in the beginning, but with the coaches’ encouragement, I still felt successful with what I was able to accomplish.
Now I have much more energy, I can finish the workouts and my back pain is gone. On top of feeling much better, I’ve dropped a few clothing sizes.
